‘TUFTY TIME’ MODULAR SOFA
Closes Tuesday, Starting $2,000
There’s something extremely satisfying about these low-slung modular sofas, I can see you being extremely thankful you had it when Architectural Digest comes round for photos.
1960s POOL LOUNGER
Closes Tuesday, Starting $300
It’s been a terrible summer for pool owners, with so many rainy days that outdoor pools have been basically relegated to large water feature status - all the more reason why you might enjoy looking at this beautifully formed lounger out the window as the rain drips down it.
TRUBRUDGE PENDANT LIGHT
Closes Tuesday, Starting $120
I’ve got one of these things and it looks nice and casts a very pleasing light pattern on the wall if you put a clear bulb inside it. However, if the bulb blows in it, it’s a total nightmare to change - hurts your hand as you’re squeezing it in there, terrified you’re about to snap the wee joints.
5 STORKLINE CHAIRS
Closes Tuesday, Starting $150
These ones seem in ok nick - odd to see them painted grey like this, but it kind of works and you could always strip them back if it bugs you.
MASONIC LECTERN
Closes Tuesday, Starting $100
No one listening to you at work? They’ll be forced to if you bring this classy little lectern in and stand behind it every single time you have something to say.

BRAUN COFFEE MACHINE
Closes Tuesday, Starting $110
I don’t know if this would be any good, or even if it works, but once it is given a proper clean it will look cool as hell.
IKEGAMI MONITORS
Closes Tuesday, Starting $50
Conservatively, I would say that 60% of all Artspace shows in the mid-late 1990’s to early 2000s featured at least one of these monitors, sitting on the floor next to an empty chair and emitting a noise that slowly drove the gallery assistants insane.
BASKET OF CERAMIC DOLLS LEGS
Closes Tuesday, Starting $50
I don’t know why, but every single estate sale lately, Webb’s seems to include one particularly cursed item. This is this week’s one.
LE CUBE TAPE DECK/SPEAKER/DRINK COOLER
Closes Tuesday, Starting $50
Peak 1980s Party Machine.
A ‘FINE’ BRICK MOULD
Closes Tuesday, Starting $60
The absolute last word in passive aggressive behaviour. Imagine being mildly annoyed by someone, going out to the garage, firing a brick that says FINE on it for 18 hours and coming back in and giving it to the person and leaving without saying a word.
UMBRELLA SWORD
Closes Tuesday, Current bid $960
I’m not sure why, but this concealed sword in an umbrella has much more good-guy energy that this CONCEALED SWORD IN A WALKING STICK.

RITA ANGUS, MOONLIGHT, THORNDON
Auction Wednesday, $220-320,000
I’m not sure I can think of a single other Rita Angus painting of nighttime. I don’t suppose it’s a huge surprise given how dedicated she was to New Zealand’s daylight, but interesting to see!
DON BINNEY, FELL SWOOP, TE HENGA
Auction Wednesday, $150-200,000
Binney painted Bethells Beach many, many times and this one might be the only interesting one. It looks to me like it’s showing the first signs of subdivision for development in the mid 1970s which must have been pissing him off no end.
FRANCIS UPRITCHARD, THE THINKER
Auction Wednesday, $25-40,000
Excellent, freaky little Upritchard sculpture.

BILL HAMMOND, WISHBONE ASH STASH 2, CORNWALL ROAD
Auction Monday 30th, $360-500,000
One of the better ones of these I’ve seen. It’s so much nicer when he’s throwing a bit of colour around.
